Laxman Jhula is an iron suspension bridge that connects not only the two banks of the river Ganges but two districts of Uttarakhand. It leads to the place Swargashram and as the name suggests it is heavenly unlike the town Rishikesh. It feels you have come to another world after crossing the bridge, the coolness, the peace, the happiness that place gives you is euphoric. While crossing the bridge you could feed the fishes from the bridge and have a glimpse of the fresh water marine life.
It is equally popular amongst tourists and local people of Rishikesh. It is said that Laxman, the brother of Lord Rama once crossed river Ganges from here hence the name Laxman Jhula.
It is hardly any far from the city, in fact works as a popular landmark in the city, so you could imagine the proximity of the place. Parallel to Laxman Jhula is another iron suspension bridge – Ram Jhula.
